About the Event
A Spirited Conversation about HPC and Cloud Computing
HPC has historically been dominated by bare-metal, on-prem solutions: primarily propriety hardware and software until the 2000s, then largely (not entirely commodity technology hardware and open-source software for two decades. However, the last decade has seen the emergence and dominance of cloud computing (also powered largely by commodity technologies and some open-source software) for many IT areas and workloads, with HPC becoming a rapidly growing workload in the last 5 years. What does the future hold for on-prem solutions, cloud HPC services, and hybrid cloud HPC? Which verticals, workloads, and customer scales will end up where? What are the tech (and other) trends that are influencing these directions? Jay Boisseau will engage some old friends in a spirited conversation (and occasionally a debate) about the future of HPC on-prem, cloud, and hybrid solutions.
Introducing the Dell HPC and AI Leadership
Dell Technologies is committed to leadership in all of IT, from edge to core to cloud, especially in the Data Decade ahead. Recent changes in the Dell Technologies Infrastructure Solution Group (ISG) will help optimize efforts across the continuum of strategy, innovation, product management, engineering, and more, while more fully integrating computational, storage, networking, and software technologies, products, and experts to ensure the best portfolio of integrated solutions. The new leaders of integrated solutions, Senior VP Pete Manca and VP Caitlin Gordon, and SVP Ihab Tarazi of the CTO office will be instrumental in the rapid development of new integrated solutions for HPC, data analytics, AI, and more. They will share more of their vision, strategy, and plans in the months ahead, but will provide early views into their commitment and directions at this HPC Community event!
