About the Event
The Arm in HPC movement has been gaining momentum and traction globally. The current #1 HPC system in the world (Fugaku) is powered by Fujitsu's Arm-based processor, and several others are working on Arm-based designs of interest to HPC including Silicon Pearl in Europe. Oracle recently announced cloud HPC offerings with Ampere's Arm processors, and Nvidia is sharing information on its future Arm processor (Grace) which LANL has committed to deploying. Other projects are in various stages of development and disclosure – it is an exciting time for Arm in HPC. Brent Gorda of Arm will discuss the technology capabilities and market forces leading to Arm adoption in HPC globally, including ecosystem developments and emerging trends.

Brent Gorda is the Senior HPC Executive for Arm, Inc. His responsibilities cover the worldwide business & sales opportunities in support of the Arm ecosystem. An entrepreneur at heart, Brent co-founded Software Carpentry, originated the Student Cluster Competition and was co-founder & CEO of Whamcloud, working with the open-source Lustre filesystem. Now at Arm, Brent is excited to help usher in the next generation of architectural choice for HPC, Cloud & Server computing.
John Linford, Director for HPC Engineering, Arm, Inc.
John Linford is Arm’s Director for HPC Engineering. He leads the "HPC Iron" team of computing experts, who enjoy maximizing application performance on weird and wonderful hardware. John likes hackathons, running, and dark beer.
