Dell Technologies HPC Community Event
About the Event
CIQ believes in helping people do great things. We do this by enabling people to build and use their computing infrastructure as optimally as possible. From founding, building, and supporting Rocky Linux (the successor to CentOS), to creating a brand new solution for modernization of HPC and enterprise HPC workloads called Fuzzball (HPC-2.0). Fuzzball integrates the capabilities of HPC, cloud, hyperscale, and enterprise, to create a global, federated, multi-cloud/multi-prem computing platform that allows us to orchestrate performance-intensive workflows and data in ways that are needed by modern use cases. This is the next generation of High Performance Computing.
About the Speaker
Gregory Kurtzer, CEO, CIQ and Rocky Linux
Throughout the High-Performance Computing industry, Greg is well known as a thought leader, innovator, disruptor, and generally cool guy. He is probably most well known for starting and leading the CentOS distribution of Linux, but he is also the person behind Warewulf, Singularity Containers, and Rocky Linux. Previously Greg spent nearly twenty years working for the United States Department of Energy (DoE) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as Chief HPC Systems Architect. After that, Greg founded Sylabs, which was acquired early in 2020 before launching Ctrl IQ.
