Why Quantum Computing Is Integral To The Future of HPC
Many in the HPC community believe that quantum computing won’t impact the HPC market for ten years…maybe more. As a result many aren’t investing time and resources into this emerging space. However, the fact is governments and corporations around the world including the USA, EU, Japan, China, Microsoft, IBM, Google, and countless others are investing billions of dollars to make this technology a reality much faster than people think. While no one knows when quantum computing will impact the HPC market, everyone realizes that the impact it makes will be dramatic. In this talk will discuss what quantum computing actually is, where we actually are in the development lifecycle, why quantum computing is an important piece of HPC’s future, and most importantly why it’s a new tool in your HPC arsenal and not a threat to your industry.
